Hair Transplant Recovery Timeline: Month-by-Month Guide
Date Published
Week 1: The transplanted area is pink with small scabs around each graft. Follow the washing protocol strictly. Week 2–3: Scabs fall off. This is normal. Week 4–8: Shock loss occurs — existing and transplanted hairs may fall out temporarily. Do not panic; this is part of the process. Month 3: The first new hairs appear. They may look fine and thin initially. Month 6: Approximately 50–60% of final density is visible. Most patients look significantly better at this stage. Month 9: 70–80% density. Month 12: Full, final result. The transplanted hairs behave exactly like native hair — they can be cut, styled and coloured.
