Upper Eyelid Surgery

The incision follows the natural crease of the upper eyelid — entirely hidden when the eye is open. Excess skin and, where present, a small amount of bulging fat are removed. The result is a cleaner, more open upper lid contour. The scar is virtually invisible within 3–4 months.

€1,800 – €2,400

Lower Eyelid Surgery

Fat pockets causing under-eye bags are accessed through a transconjunctival incision (inside the lower lid — no external scar) or a subciliary incision just below the lash line. Excess skin and fat are removed or repositioned. Particularly effective for hereditary under-eye bags in younger patients.

€2,000 – €2,800

MOST POPULAR

Combined Upper + Lower Blepharoplasty

Both upper and lower lids corrected in a single anaesthesia session for a comprehensive eye rejuvenation. The most efficient approach for patients with laxity above and below simultaneously — often combined with brow lift or facelift for a full upper-face refresh.

€2,800 – €4,000

Recovery Timeline

Stage 1

Day 1 — Consultation & Photography

Surgeon assesses upper lid skin excess (visual field impact noted if present), lower lid fat distribution and skin quality. Close-up photography taken. Surgical plan marked with the patient looking forward. Local vs. general anaesthesia discussed.

Stage 2

Day 2 — Surgery

Procedure performed under local anaesthesia with sedation (or general for combined cases). Duration 1–2 hours. You go home or return to the hotel the same day with cold compresses, antibiotic eye drops and a head-elevation pillow.

Stage 3

Day 5–7 — Suture Removal

Very fine sutures removed at the clinic. At this point bruising is yellow-green and largely concealed with makeup. Swelling in the lid is still present but significantly reduced.

Stage 4

Week 2 — Presentable

Most patients feel comfortable returning to social and professional environments. Light makeup over the incision line is permitted from day 10. Avoid contact lenses for 2 weeks.

Stage 5

Month 1 — Final Result

Residual swelling has resolved and the new eyelid contour is fully visible. The incision line is pale pink and continues to fade. For most patients the result is effectively permanent for the upper lids; lower lid results last 10–15 years.
