Choose the approach that fits your goals and budget.
Liposuction Only
For gynecomastia that is primarily fatty (pseudogynecomastia) with no firm glandular disc beneath the nipple. VASER ultrasonic liposuction precisely removes the excess fat through 2–3 mm access incisions invisible at normal chest hair length. No excision incisions required.
€2,800 – €3,500
Gland Excision
A small semi-circular incision at the lower edge of the areola allows the firm glandular breast tissue to be removed directly. The scar sits at the colour-change border of the areola where it is virtually imperceptible. Used when a firm glandular disc is present under the nipple.
€3,000 – €3,800
Combined Liposuction + Gland Excision
The standard of care for true gynecomastia: VASER liposuction removes the surrounding fatty component and shapes the chest, while periareolar excision removes the firm central gland. A single-session solution for the full spectrum of male breast enlargement — from mild to grade III.
€3,500 – €5,000
Stage 1
Day 1 — Consultation & Grading
Surgeon examines the chest and palpates for glandular tissue beneath the nipple. Simon grading (I–IIb–III) documents the degree of enlargement. Blood panel includes testosterone and oestrogen levels. Photography taken. Surgical plan confirmed.
Stage 2
Day 2 — Surgery
Procedure under general anaesthesia or deep sedation. Duration 1–2 hours. A compression vest is fitted in the operating room before you wake. You are discharged the same day or after one short hospital night.
Stage 3
Day 3–5 — Post-Op Check
Clinic review: dressings changed, wound checked. Mild bruising and swelling of the chest are normal. The compression vest must be worn at all times. Most patients fly home on day 4–5.
Stage 4
Week 2–4 — Compression Phase
The compression vest is worn 23 hours a day for 4 weeks. Desk work and light activity from day 5–7. Driving permitted at 1 week. Upper body gym, heavy lifting and contact sports avoided for 4–6 weeks.
Stage 5
Month 2–3 — Contour Visible
Swelling resolves and the chest contour becomes clearly defined. The periareolar scar (if used) is pink at this stage and blends progressively with the areola border.
Stage 6
Month 6 — Final Result
The chest is fully healed with its permanent flat contour. The periareolar scar is typically invisible at 6–12 months. The removed tissue does not return; however, significant weight gain or anabolic steroid use can cause recurrence of the fatty component.
