Bariatric Surgery
Sleeve gastrectomy removes approximately 75–80% of the stomach, creating a banana-shaped sleeve that limits food intake and dramatically reduces hunger hormones — producing rapid, sustained weight loss without foreign implants.

Standard Laparoscopic Sleeve
Five small (5–12 mm) incisions allow the laparoscopic camera and instruments to access the abdomen. The greater curvature of the stomach is divided along a calibration bougie using a linear stapler, leaving a narrow gastric tube. The procedure has no foreign body implants and no intestinal rerouting.
€2,200 – €3,500
Sleeve + Hiatal Hernia Repair
A significant proportion of bariatric patients have a concomitant hiatal hernia that worsens reflux after sleeve gastrectomy. When identified on pre-operative endoscopy, the hernia is repaired laparoscopically during the same anaesthesia session — preventing post-operative GERD without additional recovery time.
€3,500 – €4,200
Robotic-Assisted Sleeve
The da Vinci robotic system provides the surgeon with 3D high-definition vision and wristed instrument control for enhanced staple-line precision and haemostasis. Associated with marginally lower leak rates and faster return to activity in high-BMI patients. Available in our JCI-accredited partner hospital.

Stage 1
Day 1 — Pre-Op Assessment & Surgery
Anaesthesia pre-assessment, final blood panel and nutritionist briefing in the morning. Surgery performed under general anaesthesia in the afternoon. You are transferred to the ward and begin sipping water within 4–6 hours of waking.
Stage 2
Day 2–3 — Hospital Recovery
Clear liquid diet: water, broth, diluted juice. X-ray contrast swallow test confirms staple-line integrity before discharge. Pain is managed with IV and then oral analgesia. Most patients walk the hospital corridor on day 2.
Stage 3
Day 3–5 — Hotel Recovery & Check
Discharged to the hotel on day 3. Clinic wound check on day 4 or 5. Full liquid diet continues. Most patients fly home comfortably on day 5.
Stage 4
Week 2–4 — Liquid to Soft Diet
Progression from full liquids to puréed and then soft foods guided by the nutritionist. Protein intake is prioritised (≥60 g/day). Daily vitamin and mineral supplementation begins on discharge and continues for life.
Stage 5
Month 3 — Milestone Check-In
Video consultation with the surgeon and nutritionist. Average weight loss at this point is 25–35% of excess body weight. Diet has usually progressed to regular soft solid foods. Blood panel checks for vitamin and mineral levels.
Stage 6
Month 12–18 — Full Weight-Loss Result
Patients typically reach 60–70% excess weight loss. Comorbidities (type 2 diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnoea) show significant improvement or complete resolution in the majority of patients. Annual follow-up blood work continues indefinitely.
